32 degrees

It’s 32 degrees outside; dark, cold, and wet. In a little over an hour, my husband and I will venture out into the hostile elements to sit in a football stadium and support our Coley. When I spoke with a co-worker about our plans for tonight earlier today, I found myself singing Bobby Caldwell’s “What You Won’t Do For Love.”
It’s true. There really is no limit to the things you’d do, or at least consider doing, for the ones you love. By virtue of parenthood alone, I’ve surrendered my body, my sleep, my lifestyle and some of my own aspirations for the sake of my children. And, while the sacrifices are undeniable, they’re also generally easy to make, and mostly without a second thought.
I love that one of the most famous verses in God’s Word, John 3:16, is descriptive of the manner in which God loves . . . He demonstrates His love by giving. For God so loved . . . He gave. Could it be that the measure of our loving is determined by the level of our giving? Begs the question: what or who have I given myself, my time, my effort, my money to, huh?
Anyway, I think I should start giving myself over to long underwear, hats, gloves, scarves, Uggs, North Face, and prayer, because it’s 32 degrees outside and my baby’s gotta game . . . and I LOVE that boy.
Go Wolves!
Peace and Blessings,
Nicole
