It Would Take All Day

This morning while I worked out at the gym I listened to Kirk Franklin’s The Fight of My Life. As his song It Would Take All Day drifted in my ears, I found myself in literal tears on the eliptical, particularly when I noticed that I was witnessing a real life demonstration of some of the lyrics found in the song . . .
Having rained last night, I saw in the parking lot a group of four birds gathered around a puddle of rainwater that formed between two parking spots. Those birds drank long and completely.
So incredible to me
How birds that fly will testify
You will supply their needs
Although my life may change
Your promises you keep
That’s incredible to me
To me
There they were, partaking in God’s provision for them in the middle of some asphalt. I don’t know how long they had to search for the water they were enjoying, but they obviously found it and therein, found their needs met. If God can direct birds to water . . . surely He can direct me to His living water.
I’ve admitted to myself and others how very dry my grief has left me; thirsting and parched for a newness, a freshness of joy, of hope, of future. God, in His great understanding of my weakness, in His remembering that I am dust, gave me a wink today. See Nicole, I provide . . . for all of my creation. Including you. Including your family. Tears fell from my eyes. He hasn’t, in spite of how I’ve felt, forgotten me.
Lord, I can only say thank You, and to ask You to lead me to the provision You have for me.
Matthew 6: 25“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
Peace and Blessings,

Nicole
