What if Jesus said, “no”

What is it you believe you were born to do, the purpose only you came here to fulfill? Yesterday as I contemplated Jesus, his courage, his passion, his willingness to make meaning out of his life, I began thinking what would have been different if he let fear get the best of him or decided he was inadequate and not up to the task of giving his life for the world. What if Jesus passed the buck because he wasn’t ready or didn’t have enough money, time, education, a big enough house, enough food, tools, wood, etc? From our perspective Jesus was perfect, but in his mind I bet he was fraught with the exact same stories and beliefs of inadequacies that contaminate our thinking. So what if, just consider if Jesus would have said, “I’m not the one.”

I believe we all have a purpose and reason for being that is necessary for the growth and goodness of this planet and humanity. Is there anything holding you back from fulfilling your purpose? You believe you need more education, a partner, more money, longer hair or a better stylist may be? What story are you telling yourself to keep you small and from stepping into your greatness? Maybe you think your life can’t make that much of a difference. Well, maybe Christ had no idea his life would have the impact it’s having. How could he have known then his choices would continue to reverberate through eternity? It is possible, at least possible, he did not. But, here we are today opening our hearts to be filled with the spirit and love of Christ.
Your life is no less significant. As a matter of fact, if Christ lives in you then you matter more than you imagine. Just like the world needed Christ, the world needs and is waiting on you to pick up your bed and walk. So what, you don’t have everything you think you need. Let God take care of your needs. So what, you don’t think you’re completely ready. Let God ready you to perfection. It’s time the world heard your voice and sees your face. Truth be told, it’s time for you to show up and prove to yourself you are courageous and have something fabulous to share. You need to show up so you can dispel the stories you have running in your head that your little life does matter.
Let’s begin today by taking one small step towards sharing yourself with the world. I don’t mean you need a big stage or lots of people to see you when I say the world. All you need to do is step up for yourself and the perfect people who need what you offer will show up. And if no one shows up, that simply means you’re the perfect person to show up for yourself. You must start somewhere. Peace and Blessings,
