Living the Word of God – Practicing the Presence of God

Good Morning Beloved My Goodness Community,
I am always searching for ways to deepen my relationship with God through practices and behaviors that enhance my awareness and experience of God. It is my most heart-felt intention to see the face of God everywhere, which sometimes feels impossible. But when I’m doing my best, I am at least willing to start again when anger, lack, fear, worry or doubt have distracted me from the one undeniable truth – God is all powerful, God is good, God is love!
My attention and perception is the key to a successful spiritual practice. I often catch myself placing my attention on fault finding and blame rather than solution creating and responsibility, and I know what I pay attention to grows. I often ask myself – do I want to be right, or do I want to be free. Being right means someone must be wrong and that is where I crash. Practicing the Presence of God in one place says I must practice it in all places and this is freedom, no one wins but no one loses either. Or it’s not up to me to determine prize or punishment. It is my responsibility to inspire goodness, love, and truth in all that I do. Perception is king – what I perceive will determine thoughts, which activate feelings followed by actions. This can all lead towards a greater experience of love or fear. Living the Word of God creates an experience of harmony within me.
The Word of God is life enhancing and has a wonderful way of cleaning out my consciousness. Consider this – God is with you in the light and the dark. As a matter of fact, the light and the dark are the same to God. Doesn’t that make everything better? When I allow His Psalm to ruminant in my consciousness, the roses on my walk are sweeter and more vibrant, the song of the birds are light-hearted and harmonious, and I have a feeling of safety in the face of insurmountable odds because living the Word of God gives me reason to trust and my past and present experiences have proved it true.
Living the Word and practicing the Presence is a lifestyle. People know when they have stepped into the room with someone who is living God. It’s not their words or their deeds necessarily, it’s an essence - a vibration – an energy. The woman with an issue of blood who just wanted to touch Christ’s garment, she caught His vibration and believed it would heal her and it did. No words spoken, they didn’t even connect eyes, and she was healed.
This is the depth of love and level of spiritual living I’m interested in because of the freedom it brings and the joy it conjures. Today let us live the Word of God, breathing it like oxygen. And practice the Presence, knowing that it is not me/you but the Father within that doeth the work.
Peace and Blessings,
Monique Ruffin-James
